&subject : s

The value of &subject is the string being scanned.

The subject of scanning may be changed by assignment to &subject. &subject is a variable.

&pos and &subject are stacked when ? operator is performed and unstacked when it is finished.

Parameters

returns: string that is subject to being scanned
